Our Heritage

Our heritage in the insurance industry stretches back to 1995. A lot has happened since then, below is a snapshot of some of the key events in our history.

  • 2015

    We have started the celebrations for reaching our 20th anniversary – all started from a dining table and a vision!

  • 2014

    Our franchise model goes from strength to strength and we sign up our sixth franchise. We sold a minority shareholding to Ataraxia to help fund our on-going expansion plans. We are now working together on an acquisition strategy.

  • 2013

    We embedded our unique document set into Risk Overviews and Cover and Claims Details to highlight our attention to detail in a clear, tangible and consistent way. All part of our vision as a trusted reliable, advice led broker.

  • 2012

    We signed up our third, fourth & fifth franchises. Our franchisees have the freedom to grow on their own terms with the backing of an experienced and established firm who have achieved a successful track record. We reached the land mark of 30 staff.

  • 2011

    We sign up our second franchise. All franchisees have freedom of placements with full access to the agency base and will also benefit from many established extended service partnerships. Our growth enabled us to expand and we now rent the 5th Floor at Trinity Point, raising our square footage to 6,500.

  • 2010

    We signed a sponsorship deal with Stourbridge Rugby Club.

  • 2009

    We began working with Post & Mail. We launched a new franchise model for experienced Executives and signed up our first Franchise. We also became the first business to sponsor Sandwell Park Golf Club. The sponsorship deal allows us branding rights to the scratch team’s clothing, signage, adverts in publications and on their website, and the involvement in a number of high profile events at the club.

  • 2008

    We started to support the charity Edwards Trust and implemented Aviva's Broker On-site Underwriting Solution (BONUS). An Aviva underwriter is based in our office.

  • 2007

    We secured a contract with the Revelan Group and Paul White Associates to service their risk and insurance requirements for their extensive property portfolio, spread across the country. We structured the company with a board of Directors and Department Managers to oversee our continued expansion. We reached the landmark of 20 staff.

  • 2006

    We were awarded the contract to administer a scheme for professional indemnity (PI) insurance to members of the Institute of Professional Willwriters (IPW). We were awarded a contract to fulfil the commercial insurance needs for The Cube, one of the most exciting city centre building projects in recent years. And we took over the commercial book of R Pau Accountants based in Coventry.

  • 2005

    In our tenth anniversary year we took over the commercial book of Vauntage Insurance Brokers and we started working with Electrue Partnership - the largest white goods/parts supplier in the UK. We also established the Enterprise Team to fully support the micro SME business that appreciate a hands on service.

  • 2004

    We began the process of becoming a paperless office with the electronic filing on our back office system, TAM. We also established our dedicated Claims Teams with sole focus in supporting our clients in their time of need.

  • 2003

    We increased the Sales Team to 6 Executives and started work on building a Motor Trade book of business.

  • 2002

    Our consistent growth allowed us to expand into the upper floor of our new office block and in this same year we started work with Lear Group, a market leader in providing high quality industrial and commercial premises across the UK.

  • 2001

    We reached the landmark of 10 staff and changed the trading style to a limited company with a proper corporate structure!

  • 2000

    We placed the insurance for the completed development, The Mailbox, arranging all their commercial insurance requirements. The Mailbox building was arguably Birmingham’s most stylish shopping, lifestyle and restaurant destination.

  • 1999

    We were asked if we could provide advice and support for a property refurb. It turned out to be the conversion of Europe’s largest postal sorting office into what is now known as The Mailbox.

  • 1998

    We bought our new 2,250 sqft office premises in Halesowen, occupying the ground floor to begin with and we implemented an integrated computer network.

  • 1997

    We moved into slightly bigger rented premises and we implemented TAM - a sophisticated insurance technology system that incorporates all client and policy administration and accounting functionality into one solution.

  • 1996

    We took additional office space and our first sales executive…. who also is still with us today.

  • Oct 1995

    We moved into serviced offices and recruited our first member of staff who is still with us today.

  • Feb 1995

    Dave Johnston started out working from his dining room at home. And so the story started….
